I first heard about The Oasis in third grade at the Tucson Avian Fair. I signed up for the newsletter and have been getting it since. In one of the letters there was a section for items that were needed, one of which was large bird toys. I thought that this would be a great project for my Eagle Scout project. I filled out the necessary paperwork in order to get it approved by Council. I went to the Sanctuary in order to get the details on what I could and could not use as materials. After about two months of collecting funds and materials, I did my project. It was over two Saturdays, and many people helped. Afterward, my dad, my neighbor and I delivered the toys to the Oasis. This was a very fulfilling experience. When I recently had my Board of Review I officially became an Eagle Scout.

Note: Jacob and friends provided boxes and boxes of large wood toys for the birds which were received with unmeasurable delight. This was indeed a very worthwhile and rewarding effort. thank you so much Jacob!
